Dr. Alankrita Chhikara, is the Curriculum Postdoctoral Research Associate for the Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment (CILMAR) at Purdue University. She coordinates the Semester Abroad in Intercultural Learning (SAIL) program, and partners with intercultural and DEI experts to develop curriculum, conduct research, and assess intercultural learning in courses and programs.
She obtained her Ph.D. from the Purdue College of Education in Curriculum Studies. She is interested in curriculum questions that pertain to diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, and global citizenship. She is engaged in research projects that explore developing intercultural competence for multicultural engineering team effectiveness, and the effectiveness of professional development on critical approaches to race, gender, immigration, and language in national and international contexts. A former high school educator, she has taught a range of undergraduate and graduate courses on multiculturalism, global studies, intercultural learning, and community engagement for pre-service teachers.
