Jane has worked with entrepreneurs and in emerging technology-driven businesses throughout her career in media, academia, and the public sector since Web 1.0. As a programming and business development executive and in her consultancies, she helped launch new ventures and worked with founders on content development and licensing, strategic partnerships, and distribution deals. She evangelized emerging technology ventures in traditional settings and advocated for changing policies to support the same.

Jane’s experience working with content-based startups led her to an online education incubator and later service unit of Columbia University’s Digital Knowledge Ventures, where she served as Director of Strategic Development and head of E-Learning. After Columbia, she started a consulting practice advising universities, the NYC Public Schools, publishers and subject matter experts on digital resource, online course, program and e-book development, as well as related institutional and state policies.

Jane has long believed in the potential of technology to improve learning outcomes and support educators and students. Over the past four years, she expanded her work to include AI literacy advocacy and policy, and founded EdufAi to provide research, resources and policy guidance in this area.

As a long standing working member of city, state and national civic coalitions, Jane advocates for Media and AI Literacy as foundational to civic education and youth civic engagement and regularly contributes to research reports, public education events, and policy recommendation papers. She is always looking for ways to improve learning and amplify student voice and agency by fostering environments and programs that support youth leadership and innovation in the age of AI.
