Sara Gartland, Ph.D., is a former secondary mathematics teacher who left the classroom to pursue research that centres student voice. She recently earned her Ph.D. in Education from the University of Delaware where she conducted a dissertation study focused on the opportunities for equity within instruction that supports mathematical learning and social-emotional learning. Now, she is a postdoctoral researcher at the National University of Ireland Galway, where she is continuing to conduct research focused on humanizing and just approaches to education.
